The Oregon Cascades West Council of Governments (OCWCOG), in partnership with SHIBA, is holding a class that will cover Medicare parts A, B, C and D. 

Who should attend:

  • Anyone who will soon be eligible for Medicare or is new to Medicare
  • Current beneficiaries who would like a better understanding of their Medicare benefits
  • Spouses, partners and other relatives of Medicare beneficiaries

A SHIBA counselor will present this class, which is sponsored by OCWCOG and part of its AmericCorps Seniors programs. AmericCorps is the federal agency connecting individuals and organizations through service and volunteering to tackle the nation's most pressing challenges.​

Description: Every day, older adults receive Medicare related sales calls and see many ads on television that are confusing and possibly even scams. It can be hard to know what is accurate and what is false. Stop by to learn how to prevent, detect and report Medicare fraud and abuse.​
